Fourth grade is such an exciting year! I am excited and privileged to have the opportunity to teach your child this year!
This will be my ninth year teaching. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. My first teaching experiences were with the Deer Valley Unified School District, where I taught fourth grade at Paseo Hills Elementary and then Sunrise Elementary for five years.
After that my husband and two children were relocated to Vail,Arizona, a small area southeast of Tucson, due to my husband's position as a store manager for Safeway. We enjoyed living nearby the Saguaro National Park in Vail, Arizona. On any given day we were able to see lots of desert wildlife, ranging from mule deer to javelina, bobcats to ringtails, rattlesnakes to gila monsters! The elementary school where I taught, Acacia Elementary, was even known to have the occasional roaming bull every now and again, which of course sent the campus into swift lockdown mode! While there I taught fifth grade for one year and then came back to fourth grade for the past two years!
Now that my family and I are back in the Valley, it is good to be back at my old stomping grounds, Sunrise Elementary. I am back around the familiar faces of colleagues I once worked with years ago and I am pleasantly surprised to run into the "somewhat" familiar faces of my former students, who have changed and grown up sooo much!
